Phuket – The relatively recent name “Phuket” is apparently derived from the word bukit in Malay which means “hill”, as this is what the island appears like from a distance. An alternative suggestion is that the name originates from two Thai words, “phu” (mountain) of “ket” (jewel), and this is said to be recorded in a Thai chronicle.

KRABI ISLAND – Much of the province has been given over to several national parks. Top destinations are Hat Noppharat Thara, Ao Nang, Railay, and Ko Phi Phi National Park. The province includes over 80 smaller islands such as (Ko Lanta) and Phi Phi, well-known to adventurers, yachtsmen, scuba-divers, snorkelers, and day-trippers from Phuket.

KOH SAMUI ISLAND – is an island off the east coast of the Kra Isthmus, Thailand. Geographically in the Chumphon Archipelago, it is administratively part of Surat Thani Province. Ko Samui is Thailand’s second-largest island after Phuket, with an area of 228.7 km2, a population of over 63,000 and an annual tourist population of 1.5 million. Abundant natural resources, white sandy beaches, coral reefs, and coconut trees are present on the island.
